9 Ways We Participate in Others Sin

Nine Ways

on how the Serpent use others to Sin

"The Nine Ways We Participate in Others People's Sins"

or our working group name:

The Nine ways on how the Serpent use others to Sin

The serpent deceived man to eat of the tree of knowledge, and she got that way, knowing good and evil.

Lord let me know that, and then I understood.

The sinner can entice people to participate in the Serpents sin. Yes, you let me see its actions. …

... through the 9 Ways We Participate in Other People's Sins:

    1. By Counsel
    2. By Par-taking
    3. By Consent
    4. By Provocation (to instigate others)
    5.  By Praise or Flattery
    6.  By Silence to Conceal the sin
    7.  By not Punish the Sinner
    8.  By Command or appeal/request
    9. By Defence of the ill done

The Devil celebrates your "victory" but leaves you alone with the consequences.

And these consequences are not good.

Early on, we had the discussion of which points, of the nine points are the most grave ones. And, should we structure them in that order? It then starts on what we believe is 'less grave' and finishes with the 'most grave'. This is a reason why our points may differ in order but not with content in comparison to other webpages or sources.

As we work on several languages too, we do of course have them in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Polski, Português, Svenska. We do of course have the key words in Latin too.

Evil wants to alinate you from others. The more alone you are, the more darkness is around you.

It took some time to find the nine points in our modern Catholic Catechesis as it no longer show the information in bullet points or numbers. The nine points are mentienod under:

Article 8, Number 5, Point 1868: "The Proliferation of Sin".

"Sin is a personal act. Moreover, we have a responsibility for the sins committed by others when we cooperate in them:
    - by participating directly and voluntarily in them;
    - by ordering, advising, praising, or approving them;
    - by not disclosing or not hindering them when we have an obligation to do so;
    - by protecting evil-doers."

Point 1869 gives us the following:

"Thus sin makes men accomplices of one another and causes concupiscence, violence, and injustice to reign among them.

Sins give rise to social situations and institutions that are contrary to the divine goodness.

"Structures of sin" are the expression and effect of personal sins.

They lead their victims to do evil in their turn.

In an analogous sense, they constitute a "social sin."

The points 1868 and 1869 are the nine ways of how we participate in others sin, regardless if we understand that we are used by others.

That is also why the nine mentioned ways are of importance to put the foot down and say NO or STOP.

The word consequence is interesting as Merriam-Webster defines it as "a condition or occurrence traceable to a cause".

Is there a consequence of your actions?

Our extensive research found that these nine ways already have been mentioned in earlier Cathecesis.

To make it more understandable, we present some key-words in a bullet form,

arriving from German Catechesis dated: 1799, 1826, 1890 and 1938.

We have found the nine ways of being accessory to another's Sin in the Roman Missal of 1962.

Our own model below is based on the level of participation.

Roman Missal 1962: An Abridgment of Christian Doctrine

Nine Ways of being accessory to another's Sin

      1. By counsel
      2. By command
      3. By consent
      4. By provocation
      5. By praise or flattery
      6. By concealment
      7. By partaking
      8. By silence
      9. By defense of the ill done

In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (1 Gen 2:9)

Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away: and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes.

The branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine,

but when the tree is removed denied it in the place where it stood:

    (John 15:2-6)

” 'I have never seen you’.”

We have, unfortunately, our own experiences of the various "nine ways" people participate, or are used, by bullies.

Bullying can occur anywhere at any age and for any reason.

It may be envy or hate or just simply that the person is one of these mentioned in the prayer to St. Michael:

"all the evil spirits, who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls"

We do not claim any solution or nor do we have magic tricks. We do not want to go too deep into it. We base it on our belief and the above mentioned ways of how others are used by the Serpent.

Regardless, it can be stopped and it must be stopped.

Bullying is a poison pill for both peple and organisations.

That is why it has to be stopped.

It is stated in Exodus 20:13, "You shall not murder."

which in return is the fifth Commandment.

Exodus 20:16 states: "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

which in return is the eigth Commandment.

Both the fifth and the eigth Commandments are linked to the nine ways the Serpent use others to Sin. Killing someone can be done through charachter assassination, spreading rumours or discrediting a person or family.

Through our own experiences and we also know how deep the wound can be. We know how long time it can ache and cause problems for each individual. We also know how fast an organisation or a project can be torn down and it may have taken a decade to build.  We know how it impact an organization when key-people leaves.

And, we decided to set the foot down and do something about it. This of course, would then make our lives much tougher as the hate then came in a harder way towards us.

Some of us found comfort in "The Armor of God", some in the S:t Michael prayer, some in the "Armor of Light" but we all had eachother. We were not alone!

    I have never seen You!

This is what evil wants; to alinate you from others. The more alone you are, the more darkness is around you.

Nobody really understand how deep a cut from a bully goes into your mind

as it is different from person so person.  This is  serious and extremely painful.

    • Character assassination
    • Singled out and in the cold
    • Seperated from support, friends or coworkers
    • The abuser continues finding a new victim once you have left the place or organisation.

IF NOBODY SAY STOP or ENOUGH

it will continue and it will spread.

It may become "common practice" and therefore "accepted".
